Maternity, newborn, and family sessions

Documentary-style storytelling for the seasons you never want to forget.

I’m Gina, a photographer, a mom of two, and a full-time local here on beautiful Mount Desert Island.

Most days, you’ll find me in the middle of real life with my own kids - coffee in hand, putting little socks on over and over and over again, and moving through these stages of early parenthood. I know how quickly things shift. How the little routines, the way they reach for you, the way a certain season of life feels - it all changes faster than you expect. Sometimes time legit feels like the sand slipping through an hourglass.

That’s a big part of why I care so much about documenting families in a way that feels honest and unforced. Not perfectly posed, not overly polished, just real moments that you’ll actually recognize (and hopefully feel) when you look back on them.

Living here also shapes how I work in a really practical way. I know how the light moves through different parts of the island, which locations work best for young kids (and which ones don’t), how to time things around weather, crowds, and energy levels.

So when we plan your session, it’s not just about picking a pretty spot. It’s about choosing a place and a pace that feels good for your family, so you can relax, be present, and let things unfold naturally.

Relax, connect, and be present

You don’t need to show up with perfectly coordinated outfits or kids who are “on their best behavior.”

You don’t need to worry about whether your toddler will sit still (they won’t), or if everything will go exactly as planned.

That’s not the goal.

These sessions are designed to feel easy and low-pressure. We’ll choose a location that works well for your family, plan around the best light, and give ourselves enough space so no one feels rushed.

From there, I’ll guide you gently when needed, but a lot of the time, I’m just paying attention:

To the way your child reaches for your hand.
To the transitional moments.
To the way your family actually plays and interacts when no one’s forcing it.

You get to move, explore, take breaks, and just be together.

The result is a set of images that feel like your real life, just a little more intentional, and beautifully documented in gorgeous Acadia National Park.

What a family session looks like

First, we’ll connect via email and talk through what season of life you’re in, what kind of setting feels right, and any logistics that matter (nap schedules, energy levels, how your kids tend to move through the world). From there, I’ll guide you toward a location and timing that actually works for your family.

On the day of your session, there’s no pressure to perform or follow a strict plan.

We might walk a little, stop when something catches your kids’ attention, take breaks when needed, or just settle into one spot and let things unfold. I’ll offer direction here and there, but a lot of the time I’m simply observing and documenting what’s already happening.

Some moments will be playful, some will be quiet, and some might feel a little chaotic, and all of it is embraced! That’s where the real connection shows up.

Sessions are slow-paced and flexible, with plenty of room to adjust as we go. The goal isn’t to get through a checklist (although I’m happy to accommodate requests for a certain shot), it’s to create space for your family to be together in a way that feels natural.

Afterward (typically within 2 weeks), you’ll receive a collection of images that reflect what this season actually feels like - something you’ll recognize years from now.

A pregnant woman and her son standing outdoors on a rocky beach. The boy is wearing a plaid shirt and khaki pants, while the woman is dressed in a floral dress. The woman is touching the boy's arm, and they are engaged in a moment of connection.

A woman with long blonde hair wearing a floral dress and pearl necklace, smiling as she walks with a young boy in a plaid shirt through a field of tall, dry grasses near a shoreline with a body of water and cloudy sky in the background.

Session types and pricing

Maternity

A relaxed, one-hour session to document this season as it feels - slow, connected, and full of anticipation. Whether we’re walking a quiet coastal path, tucked into the woods, or simply spending time at home, these sessions are less about posing and more about presence.

Partners, kids, and even pets are always welcome. The goal is to create space for real moments and the way this time feels!

Starting at $350

Newborn

These early days are just so special; they feel a little fuzzy, and full of small, meaningful moments, and that’s exactly what we’ll capture.

Newborn sessions take place in your home, with no pressure to pose or perform; we’re documenting the way you’re naturally settling into this new season together.

The focus is on connection over perfection, creating images that feel honest, gentle, and true to what these first days and weeks actually look like.

Starting at $350

Couples/Family

Whether we’re wandering along the coastline, on a forest trail, or somewhere meaningful to your family (like home!), I’ll gently guide when needed while leaving plenty of space for connection, movement, and real interaction. Kids can be kids, and you don’t have to worry about everything going “perfectly”; some of the my favorite moments come from the in-between.

The result is a collection of images that feel relaxed, honest, and true to your family in this season of life.

Starting at $350
